SyncVV Vicon Metadata Bridge connects Vicon and SyncVV metadata

Liberal Logic Inc. has released SyncVV Vicon Metadata Bridge (VMB), new software that links metadata between Vicon recording systems and SyncVV projects, as an addition to the SyncVV professional video and audio recording system. VMB is supported from SyncVV Version 3.0.0.

In the three years since the second-generation SyncVV was released, customers have consistently told us that the lack of metadata linkage between Vicon and SyncVV was creating friction in day-to-day operation. VMB is the result of addressing that problem head-on.

VMB offers the following:

• Installed on the Vicon recording system and ready to use after a short configuration
• Reads the existing ENF file and analyses its hierarchy to pick up the required keys
• Passes the retrieved values through to the SyncVV project as metadata

Vicon metadata is highly customisable, and many studios build and operate their own database structures to suit the specific needs of each project. VMB is designed around that reality. Rather than handling only a fixed set of predefined fields, it reads the structure of the ENF file actually in use before linking the data, so it can be introduced without reworking an existing database configuration.

Automating metadata linkage reduces the manual transcription and verification work that has until now been carried out on the studio floor. We will continue to contribute to studio operation that spends its time on higher-value work.
